Proposal & Match Requests

A proposal passes through several hands before anyone can call it a match — your approval, the other matchmaker's approval, and finally the family's. When that happens over phone calls, nobody is ever quite sure where a particular rishta has stopped. Here it is written down.

Every stage a proposal goes through

  • Pending requesting MM approval — waiting on the side that sent it
  • Pending receiving MM approval — sitting with the other matchmaker
  • Pending user approval — the family is deciding
  • Rejected by requesting side / Rejected by receiving side — with it clear which side said no
  • Accepted
  • Match completed
  • Match engaged

Nothing gets forgotten

Open the list and you can see, at a glance, what is waiting on you and what is waiting on someone else. Proposals you have sent and proposals you have received sit in the same place, so a rishta cannot quietly go cold because it slipped out of a conversation.

Once a proposal is accepted, the two matchmakers get a chat dedicated to that match — see Matchmaker Chat.
